Liquid Collector
A Packed Tower Column Liquid Collector is an essential internal component used in packed bed towers, designed to efficiently gather and redistribute liquid between packing sections.
Fabricated from corrosion-resistant materials such as stainless steel, alloys, or engineered plastics, the collector is engineered to ensure uniform liquid collection and prevent channeling or maldistribution within the column.
Its robust construction supports steady operation in high-capacity distillation, absorption, and stripping processes.
Type of liquid collector tray
1. Chimney Collector Tray:
The chimney collector tray is designed to overcome the issue of stream distribution or draw off a liquid feed to the column before introducing the mixture liquid above the packed bed.
Chimney Tray Collector Design: Tray with vertical chimneys (risers) for gas flow; liquid flows underneath into downcomers or draw-off nozzles.
Use Case: High liquid rates, or when gas-liquid disengagement is needed.
Features: Excellent for vapor-liquid separation.
Often used when side draw-offs or sampling are required.
2. Lamella vane type:
The function of the collector is to collect liquid from the above-packed bed and directed to annular trough.
